(Bradford, ON, October 25, 2016)

Marcus Bergman who played for the Bradford Rattlers, has signed with the second highest league in the Swedish system, agreeing to terms with VIK Västerås HK in the Allsvenskan.

Bergman, the Swedish born winger, spent the 2012-2013 season with the Bradford Rattlers where he was a star on the team scoring 76 points (36G,40A) in only 33 games including help lead the Rattlers to an undefeated regular season, and eventually the Russell Cup Championship.

Bergman has spent the past 3 seasons post GMHL playing professionally in lower tier Swedish leagues spending time with IFK Tumba and Huddinge IK (both Division 1), where the talented winger has put up 87 points (48G, 39A) in 129 career games.

Prior to playing in Bradford Bergman, 6'3", played in elite Junior leagues in Europe including the Hovås HC organization, at both the J18 and J20 levels, and the EHC Linz Franchise as a member of the U20 team.

Bergman is only the latest of players to play in Allsvenskan after playing in the GMHL as the  top quality Swedish league has supported the GMHL for years.
Congratulations and Good Luck Marcus.

Currently, the Rattlers have righted their ship picking up a win this past weekend over the visiting Seguin Huskies. Next up is a home game on Sunday, October 30th hosting the Orangeville Ice Crushers. Puck drop is 7:30pm at the BWG Leisure Centre.
